My "someday" has arrived . . . almost.

Just in case you were wondering where I've been.  This is what I was doing in November (in addition to being a mommy and practicing law part time):

Thanks to Chucky Love, my incessant supporter.

I didn't tell anyone other than Chuck . . . even my kids.

And, no you cannot read it . . . yet.

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!

P.S. For those of you who don't know what this is, you can read about it HERE.  I had to explain it to Chuck at the end of October.  The only thing a person has to do to become a "WINNER" is write 50,000 words of a novel, so it's not really a competition where I was chosen a winner or anything like that.  I just wrote 50,000 words - actually, 51,136 words to be exact - with more to come.  The story is not even close to being complete.  Anyway, that's the gist of it.

Commercials that make me smile.

I don't shop at K-Mart because there isn't one near me, but damn, I love their commercials.  I saw this one earlier this  year, and can't get enough of it.

And my sister Mary just shared this one with me today. They're little gems, in my opinion. Enjoy!

Got the time?

The past few months I've been busy with some crazy, time-consuming projects, one of which was a diet and exercise regime that put me in a super cranky mood.  You can thank me for not venting my frustration about it all through this forum. Anyway, I saw this fun calendar of activities for the Elf on the Shelf today.  A million thanks to the blogger of A Little More!

My first thought was that I'm usually too busy to even move the elf from one side of the shelf to the other, so there's no way I'm going to get all these things done.  Well, then I kicked myself in the ass and decided I should put in a little more effort this year.  After all, I am at home now, and my full time job is being a mother.  Now I can just pass off this fun activity as part of my job description!

So, this December, I am publicly commiting to having a more active and involved Elf on the Shelf.  Plus, I realize that my opportunities for such frivolity are dwindling as my children are growing up.  So, Carpe Diem!  Thank you Robin Williams, I think I will!

Anyone want to join me?

Miss

Today, I said "thank you" to a man who held the door open for me at Starbucks.

He replied, "My pleasure, Miss."

Seriously.  He actually said that.  Who says that anymore?

I loved it!
