About the Professional Mother

I'm in my mid-thirties. Let's not talk about that.  I hated middle school, loved high school, fell in love in college, got married when I was 19, moved around the country with Chuck, graduated from college, went to law school, and now work at a law firm in downtown Fort Worth, Texas.

ChuckyLuv and I are still married and ridiculously happy with our three children: Luke, Evie, and George.  I adore them all.  We also have two dogs, Fergi and Walter, who drive us crazy with their barking and all it takes to set them off is a squirrel fart within a 20-yard radius of our home.

I'm a lawyer by day, a mom by night.  I struggle almost everyday to strike the perfect work-life balance.  It's not going to happen -- ever.  I'm still trying to accept that fact.  I try not to beat myself up about it all the time, but it is all too easy to recognize my daily failures that keep me out of the running for "Mother of the Year."

I am obsessed with "that's-what-she-said" jokes.  I am officially a soccer mom with a mini-van (called Lulu).  I'm a sucker for Girl Scout cookies and babies (separately).  At my house, there is a constant supply of gas, burps and laughs.  I despise diets and working out, but I adore wine and Champagne Thursdays: this combination does not make for a healthy lifestyle in case you were wondering.

My motto is Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much.  We do our best to live this way.
