Normally, by this time of year, the park has turned brown/yellow because it is hot and there is no rain. This year, we've had more than our fair share (not that I'm complaining - I love the rain) so the park and all its green has been revived. It is beautiful - peaceful. The other evening I was driving home (while it was still light outside) and the park looked like a big tuft of wet moss and I just had to take a picture or two so I pulled over and took these with my phone. The quality isn't great, but you get the picture of how peaceful, quiet, and comforting it feels.
God is the experience of looking at a tree and saying, "Ah!"
- Joseph Campbell
I am the heat of your hearth, the shade screening you from the sun; I am the beam that holds your house, the board of your table; I am the handle of your hoe, the door of your homestead; the wood of your cradle, and the shell of your coffin. I am the gift of God and the friend of man.

It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon
men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that
emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and
renews a weary spirit.
- Robert Louis Stevenson
In the woods we return to reason and faith.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Beautiful. I want to escape work and go there right now. Is this where we did your family pics last fall?
Yes, ma'am.
Every time I drive by there I think to myself that it would be the perfect spot to spend the afternoon laying on a quilt reading a good book. Of course 99% of the time I have a two year old with me though so it's never happened. Someday though! :0)
What a thoughtful and peaceful post. Great pictures - even if they came from your phone!!
